What's new

What shipped and where to find it, newest first. Signed-in players see the same list inside the app; anything marked Pro is in the Pro plan or the earned trial.

  1. Pro

    Ten new middlegame lessons

Candidate moves, the pawn centre, hanging pawns, the exchange sacrifice and six more plans, each with quiz positions checked by Stockfish. 25 lessons in all.

  2. Games count for your streak

Finished games against Stockfish now keep your streak and earn 10 XP each, up to 30 XP a day. They never count toward leaderboards.

  3. Your own opening repertoire

Paste a PGN or link a Lichess study and every line becomes a drill you answer by voice, with review dates. Free keeps one opening of 30 moves; Pro keeps 20 of 200.

  4. Play Stockfish by voice

Full games against Stockfish at eight levels, by voice or tap, with the board shown or hidden. Free includes 1 game a day; Pro has no cap.

  5. Faster voice answers

In the square drills your answers are now recognised on your device where the browser supports it: faster and more accurate. Clips of misheard answers help improve it; Pro can opt out in Profile.

  6. Pro

    Puzzles from your own games

Import your Lichess or Chess.com games and train the exact positions you got wrong. Each mistake becomes a puzzle you can replay until it sticks.

  7. Today's session

One planned session a day: a drill and a few puzzles, with a review when one is due, run back to back. Start it from the dashboard and it keeps your streak.

  8. Fewer dead ends

Sessions are now recorded so a bug report can be replayed, and the app recovers on its own when a page fails to load after a deploy.
